Where are you located?
1212 Haywood Road, Suite 600 – between Pelham Road and East North Street. Click for a map.
What are your hours?
8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
What are the payment options that are accepted in your office?
Cash, all major credit cards, care credit, and checks. (There is a returned check fee of $25).
Do I need to schedule an appointment to be seen?
Scheduled appointments are preferred. Walk-ins are welcome, as our schedule permits.
Do your Optometrists treat children?
Yes. Our doctors are trained and certified to provide eye care services to children. In fact, our office participates with the Infant See program. The American Optometric Association recommends that children have their first eye examination at six months of age for major problems that may prevent vision from developing properly.
What insurance do you accept?
We participate with many insurance plans. We will gladly call and verify if we are in network with your plan. For more information, please visit our financial page or call us at 864-234-7700.
Will my insurance cover glasses and contacts?
It depends on your plan, but usually not both. Most insurance plans generally cover one or the other, not both.
How much do your eyeglass frames cost?
Cost of our glass frames start at $80 and range up to $350, depending upon your selection. Click here for a full list of frame lines that we offer.
What are your eyeglass lens prices?
Prices vary depending upon the type of correction your prescription requires. We prefer to use premium lenses, which offer UV protection and are thinner and lighter in weight. Please feel free to speak with one of our qualified Opticians at 864-234-7700 for more information.
What does 20/20 vision mean?
If you have 20/20 vision, it means you can see at 20 feet what is normally seen at that distance. A visual acuity of 20/50 would mean you must be 20 feet away to see what should normally be seen at 50 feet.
I am over 40 and cannot see up close very well, why is that?
Our near vision begins to blur in our early 40s due to the loss of flexibility of the crystalline lens in the eye. This condition is called presbyopia. It is a normal part of the aging process of the eye and cannot be prevented.
Why am I seeing spots in my vision?
The spots often seen in our vision are called floaters. They are small particles inside the eye. Most are not harmful, but they can be an indication of more serious problems. If you are experiencing floaters, we would be happy to make you an appointment with one of our physicians. You may do this online or by calling 864-234-7700.

Why do I need to have my pupils dilated?
The only way to truly see the entire area of the inside of the eye is through a dilated pupil. It is essential for assessing the health of the retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels.
