Greenville EyeCare Blood Drive Participants Donate “Gift of Life”
July 20, 2010 - - In the local community and beyond, blood donors perform daily miracles because lives depend on it. Greenville EyeCare Associates understands this need and recently hosted a blood drive with the Blood Connection where numerous donors – including several first time givers – stepped forward to participate. The Blood Connection’s well-known bloodmobile provided comfort and convenience for each donor.
Blood drives are essential to the Greenville and surrounding communities. By sponsoring this event, Greenville EyeCare helped promote donor participation where collections are considered the “gift of life” for those in need. This is especially important considering blood must be available locally 24 hours a day, every day of the year for emergencies, illnesses, surgeries and special healthcare needs.
“Local businesses, like Greenville EyeCare Associates, help The Blood Connection by hosting blood drives to help supply 16 Upstate hospitals,” said Dan Herlegson, Donor Recruitment for the Blood Connection (TBC). “Such contacts assist TBC in successfully maintaining an adequate and safe blood supply.”
